2017 Nebula Conference

This workshop is intended as an introduction to the design and layout of a book to be self published. 

We will talk about how to prepare your manuscript, what software you might need to create print-ready files, what the current options are for self publishing (letterpress, traditional offset, digital, POD through an online service, e-books) and how these affect the choices you make.

We will also discuss basic issues of book design - paper choice, cover design including how to find cover art, choosing a typeface for text layout, margins and page numbers.

On hand will also be a resource library of reference works on book design and examples of each of the different way printed books are produced.
